About the Company and People

At WebBrick® Systems we are passionate about home automation. We go out of our way to help all our customers get all the benefit they possibly can from our solutions. This isn't so much a company philosophy as a common set of personal values.

The company started when Andy Harris – who is now our technical director – set out to install a home automation system from a well-known supplier in his house. He stopped short of buying any of the available systems, as he was so frustrated at their inflexibility; at the extortionate cost of components which should have been standard and low cost; and particularly at the way he would need to call in the original programmer, at great expense, to make changes to the way his home operated.

His knowledge of industrial control and automation systems formed the basis of a completely new approach to home automation, which was to be open, standards-based and accordingly far less expensive to create, install and maintain.

He and managing director, John Guyatt, founded WebBrick® Systems in 2004 to design and manufacture – and in the early days also to install and support – these innovative new systems.

Today, WebBrick® Systems has a dedicated technical team based in Newbury, designing and creating products that are manufactured in facilities nearby. We develop our own software for all WebBrick® Systems systems, building on the most secure and robust platforms available.

Since we started we have built a base of highly satisfied customers spread across the UK.
